U2 has not have had many huge controversies, but one of the most recent controversies that made headlines is how that Apple gifted all of its users with a free U2 album without the users consent, it was automatically pushed to all devices that was connected to iTunes with a free album titled "Songs of Innocence". Apple was criticized for this not only for the spontaneous download of an album they didn't consent for being pushed to their devices, but because U2 has so many religious undertones in their music, that people thought the tech mogul was pushing a catholic religious agenda to billions of users.
