The main theme of the assignment is how U2 uses their music to spread positive religious messages without the overbearing effect that religious groups typically give off. U2 isn't a religious group but uses religious themes to backup the messages.

Most religious groups usually send messages that have direct reference to certain religious works such as direct quotes from the bible that they can convert into hate speech.

U2 uses religious references but leaves it up to the audience that is listening to their music to interpret the meanings behind their lyrics which makes them such a influential band in this space.
